First of all let me say that I am only fifteen years old – I understand this may put you off but please do not let this be the case. I have built four computers previously, for various family members, and want to start doing it for members of the public.
I am very interested in computers, I want to work with them as a full time profession later in my life, and that is why I decided to build a computer in the first place. I then found out that it was much cheaper than rrp, allowed me to make exactly what I wanted, not what PC World wanted and was a fun experience.
I also have quite a lot of surplus software, so I might be able to add some heavily discounted software in to the package.

I also used to do this but got stuck with a low spec computer that no one wanted just before xmas. I built it for the kids of someone who worked away & wanted a cheap computer. I had it ready about a week before xmas & waited for him to collect but he didn't. He then said he would be home at easter & could I keep it till then but again he failed to collect. I was a salesman at the time so took it to work to use as it was better than trying to use my laptop. I ended up a couple of hundred pounds out of pocket just before xmas & ended up stuck with a crap computer for a couple of years.
Regarding your comment about software do not go down the road of using copies of your own software or pirate versions if you are selling to someone you do not know as you could end up being fined for illegal use. Try using linux & open source stuff. This is the cheapest but you may find people want the microsoft products & if this is the case you may find that your computers end up dearer than pc world
Do not sell at a cheap price because if a component goes your customers will expect that you repair free of charge. This can get costly if a power supply goes & takes out other components so you need to have funds on hand in case of this & you may get warranty refused by your supplier especially if you have not bought all the components from the same shop.
